Mondays: Bible Study with Dr. Nathan Birkholz

This study will give us a chance to explore these scriptures in more depth and detail. Please contact Dr. Nathan Birkholz at nbirkholz@felc.com if you are interested in joining.

Tuesdays: Daytime Women’s Book Club

This group meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. at the Downtown Site Lounge (virtually during COVID-19). The books for the monthly discussion are determined in December for the following year. The book list can be found in the FELC Newlsetter. Contact: Sara Van Beek.

Tuesdays: An Anti-Racism Book Circle Invitation

George Floyd said, "I can't breathe." Eric Garner said, "I can't breathe." We don't know that Jesus said "I can't breathe," but from what we know of his death he certainly felt it. Before he couldn't breathe on the cross, Jesus said, "Love your neighbor as yourself." At this time, FELC member Elizabeth Stevens feels a call to examine how to better love our Black neighbors. "Let's start by understanding the foundations of white supremacy. This work is uncomfortable and difficult and necessary (all growth is, right?)" Please join Elizabeth in a four-week book study of Me and White Supremacy, by Layla Saad. She will host a Zoom meeting each Tuesday in July at 7:30 p.m., to discuss and learn with each other. The first session will be July 7. Get your book soon, whether hard copy, e-book or audio book, and sign up by sending her an email at eahstevens@gmail.com. If you are interested but the time doesn't work, send Elizabeth or Pastor Mary an email and a second group may form.
