Congregational Life Ministry Team

Last meeting: April 14, 2009

Attendees:

Emilie Larson

Deni Lundwall

Dong Pham

Margaret Zweig

Staff:

Karen Herbrich

Jean Monson

Excused: Elizabeth Hensel (attending Communication Task Force meeting)

Items that may require Council action: Addition of Margaret Zweig as a returning member of CLMT.

Items that may require budget/finance coordination:

• Were wedding costs included in our budget last year? Additional discussion needed with a member of support to better understand how we can plan our budget with the large amount of our allotted budget going toward weddings.

• We request a member of the Support Ministry Team or finance coordinator to join our meeting in May to discuss further.

Important items of information:

• Picnic review: First meeting held on April, 7 with additional meetings scheduled. Deni will e-mail the chairs of the other ministry teams noting what areas to the picnic need groups of volunteers to allow the MTs to work together at the picnic with the intent being to get the MTs out in front of the congregation. Discussing ideas for how MTs will identify themselves.

• Timber Rattlers fellowship event: Dong will communicate with Dean Haas et al to schedule the day. Cost of event will be covered by individual ticket sales, but tracking of the expense on our budget without seeing the receipts of the sale of tickets is a concern that will be addressed next month with support/finance.

• 50+ update: 70+ people attended the event on Tuesday, April 14 with a free will offering of $150. Next events scheduled:

May 14 - bus trip, all ages

June 15 -Kenya Library Project Speaker

July - No event

August - BBQ with speakers from Big Brothers Big Sisters

Brainstorm for ideas of additional fellowship activity (2009 Goal): Ideas discussed listed below. Newsletter article will appear in the May newsletter for volunteers/participants of events as well as an update to the Web site noting different volunteer activities instead of just schedules of worship volunteers.
