Members
of the committee spent quite some time discussing the role of the Property
Oversight Committee in its present state. The members present expressed a need
to restructure this committee in lieu of the budget restraints due to the
uncertain economy and low revenue. With the majority of current major
construction behind us, the focus is shifting to the continuous maintenance of
what we have. The discussion revolved around restructuring the committee from
property oversight to a building and grounds committee. With-full time
maintenance personnel at both buildings, building maintenance concerns can be
logged, prioritized and brought before the Support Ministry Team for approval
according to the yearly approved maintenance budget plan. The restructured Buildings
and Grounds Committee would head, organize and recruit member volunteers,
utilizing the Time & Talent forms, to assist with certain building and
grounds maintenance projects. In the future, if a need arises, the Property
Oversight Committee can be re-established to oversee growth construction.
