Support Ministry Team subgroup: Property Oversight Committee

• Budget report: Committee received report of property maintenance expenditures.

Old business:

• Paul led the committee on a tour of the DS to identify some major maintenance issues: Sacristy roof leaking, leaking roof in Anita and Donna’s office, ramp door water issue
• John Z. addressed the restructuring of the PO committee. The Support Ministry Team believes it should remain as it is; regroup; re-evaluate the maintenance issues and prioritize them. It was also suggested that the Property Oversight Committee meet with the Support Ministry Team several times a year to review maintenance issues at both sites.
• Discussion concerning our church financial situation. Can we make any cuts? Conclusion: No cuts.

New business:

Current maintenance issues include:

• DS fire detectors/sprinkler system – fire code: Jody
• Insulation in walls of DS office and office workroom: John Z
• Doors on North Street: Paul
• DS sacristy roof: Paul will contact Steve G. and Scott Bastian
• Roof leak in Anita and Donna’s office: Paul will contact Scott

2009 NS lawn mowing bids:

• Lowney’s Landscape - $192.50 per MOWING X 26 mowings = $5,005
• Jack’s Lawn Service - $145 per HOUR X 26 mowings =

1 Hour - $3,770

2 Hours - $7,540

• Plus Jack’s Lawn Service Spring Cleanup 2008 prices:

DS – $892

NS - $642

After review and discussion the committee agreed that if there is somewhere we could cut expenses it would be in the area of lawn service maintenance. Before our next meeting, Rich agreed to acquire some undated quotes for a lawn mower for the NS. Purchasing a new lawn mower would have an initial expense, but the expense would be no greater than hiring one of the services. After that only machine maintenance costs would be involved. Member volunteers would be solicited to help with spring cleanup, set for Saturday, May 16.
