Important items of information:

FELC/support financial review: Weekly offering for February was $67,720, which was ahead of last year. For the year we are 6.7% behind 2008 or $10,473. Expenses through February totaled $$228,814. Our deficit for the year total $57,000, but this includes a rollover of our deficit from 2008 of $39,319. For the year the difference is $17,681. Some of this is due to higher than expected snow removal expenses.

Recycling: Discussed need to review our use of paper and recyclables. We are paying fees for their removal and we will ask the ministry teams to consider reducing paper, etc. to reduce need to pay for recyclables.

Discussed possible opportunities to reduce recycling costs through member activities

Discussed Property Oversight considering member cleanup days at both sites

Property management subgroup: John Zweig met with the Property Oversight Committee on Monday. The subgroup needs to continue to identify maintenance needs and make recommendations to economically provide maintenance to the church. A change will be to have periodic meetings with the Support Ministry Team to allow their participation in decision making on repairs and maintenance. The subgroup did a walk-through at the Downtown Site. Significant maintenance issues were reviewed, including:

Bids will be obtained for repairs to address these issues. Recommendations will be forthcoming. The minutes of the subgroup cover other areas of discussion.

Walt Rugland apprised the team of a meeting to be held with the contractor for the North Site/Downtown Site to discuss several issues with the buildings to seek their assistance in corrective action.

FELC Cash Management Policy: Agreed to provide a presentation to the ministry teams in April addressing the Cash Management Policy. John Zweig and Brenda Smongeski will make this presentation.

FELC balance sheets: Programming being accomplished; work in progress. No update.
