Important items of information:
- Finance budget review: Worship has $1,000+ dollars as
income per the most recent report from flowers
- New liturgy update at the 9:15 a.m. services: Melissa spoke to the
use of international liturgies through summer. In August Melissa plans to
organize a rehearsal group for liturgy reintroduction focusing on comfort
level and knowledge of the music.
- Memorials list: Our first gift was placed for new oil candles with
memorial money.
- Mission statements: for each service were discussed and will be
shaped further by Doug Freeman, then submitted for print.
- Upcoming seasons and themes were discussed: taking a theme
and following through with an event or focus was agreed on. We will
continue to pull themes based on the readings and brainstorm ways to
uniquely emphasize them during worship. Organized themes are:
- Pentecost – wearing red and
speaking in different languages
- Holy Trinity Sunday – entrance
hymn with interpretive dancing
- Seeds (themed text on June 14)
– “seeds of the kingdom” where interns will do children’s sermon and
seeds will be given. Carrie, Michelle and Melissa will form objective and
gather supplies.
- Bread (themed text from late
July through August) – “bread for the journey” where homemade bread will
be used at NS and DS for communion and on a specific Sunday we will hold a
Bread Bake-Off fundraiser giving raised money to a food organization.
Jamie and Mary will organize.
