Finance/budget review: Music is not in the team’s budget as a line item, so
the committee will respond to requests for specific items on case-by-case
basis.
Important items of information: Beginning in August the team will begin meetings as a
whole, then split into North Site and Downtown Site subgroups and come back
together for wrap-up and prayer. The number of team members from each site is
equal.
Protocol review: Teams will be formed; one 5-member team for each
service at each site. They will meet in August as a committee of the whole for
orientation and discussion of the goal of creating various forms of service for
members’ choice, and the process, to write down what is being done at each
service now and why and then decide if we want to change and why.
Music director searches: The North Site search team received 3 resumes and
will interview one. The Downtown Site search team received 6 resumes and meets
Monday to decide who to interview.
Vocal leader 9:15 a.m. downtown: Mary Catterton has elected to end her participation
as vocal leader at the 9:15 a.m. services. She will be missed. Others have come
forward to serve.
Lifting up Advent services - Discussion arrived at preliminary consensus as
follows: A theme for both sites could be “Wait and Watch,” with different sub-themes
for each of the four Sundays. “Wait and Watch” for … the dawn … hope of the
world … light of the world … Son of God. Have children involved in the
lighting/blessing of the Advent wreath. Amplify space for first Sunday and then
add visuals each week. Consider a life- size manger at both sites.
