Important items of information:

· Finance/budget: There will be changes in reporting so that Bob Whitton will be included in staff, rather than under worship ministry. There is hope that flower donations and other donations listed under WMT will be reported as credited to the WMT budget line.

· Comments on Thanksgiving Service: It was “worshipful.” Wednesday evening attendance equaled good attendance on a Sunday morning at DS, and Thursday around 100 attended. It helped the staff to have the same service at both Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.

· Discussion of Advent services: Comments included the suggestion to give verbal explanations of weekly changes in the church environment and how they lift up the theme; that Pastor Dismer’s explanation in the children’s sermon at NS was helpful to all ages: At NS, make sure there are people assigned to lighting candles: at DS, coordinate timing of chimes with the lighting of candles.

· Decorating for Christmas: Scheduled for at both NS and DS Dec. 20 at the same time as rehearsal for the children’s Christmas programs.

· Christmas Eve service details: The representation of the Holy Family will take place at one late afternoon “family service” at each site. They will have a coordinator to help them. Milly will revise the information sheet for the volunteers as suggested. At DS, candlelight along aisles will be only at the late service, and by simulated lighting at NS. Special music includes Joy Choir at NS and choirs or other at each service at DS.

· Discussion of memorials list: Suggested changes to the list prepared by Jeff were increasing the amount for sound system and projectors for NS, entering one line item for paraments for each of the NS and DS at $3,000 (or more for custom artist’s work for NS). Before finalizing the list we will ask other teams to add items, add endowment as an option, prepare an introduction about the reason we give memorials and the book where the memorials will be recorded.

· Lent and Holy Week services: Melissa passed out a list of dates and services held during Lent and Holy Week in 2008, and the dates on which Lent and Holy Week occur in 2009. Discussion of the service schedule for 2009 will be at the next meeting.
