Downtown Site: Join a discussion of various Bible studies or faith topics during the school year at 9:15 a.m. on Sundays in
Room 221.
North Site: Join a discussion of the Sunday texts and sermon
during the school year at 9:15 a.m. on Sundays in the Office.
Philippians Bible study meets on Monday evenings in the Fellowship Hall at the Downtown Site. The study focuses on the joy we can experience even in difficult times. Check our online calendar for dates and times.
“Women’s Thursday Early Riser Study” meets from 6 to 7 a.m. on Thursdays in the Lounge at the Downtown Site.
"Getting Ready for Sunday” is a weekly study that focuses on the lectionary texts for the upcoming Sunday. It will resume meeting in fall at 7 p.m. on Mondays, in the Lounge at the Downtown Site.
Wednesday Bible Study will meet at noon in the Lounge at the Downtown Site beginning Sept. 3. Bring a lunch and study the Bible with
Pastor Detweiler.
“Bethel Bible Study” is a 2-year overview of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Each 7-week unit meets from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. once each week at the Downtown Site. There is a $15 class fee. To register for a unit or to find out the schedule, e-mail Anita Damon at adamon@felc.com.
"Lutheran Woman Today" Bible Studies:
Women’s Bible studies are a great way to connect every month. Circles are monthly Bible studies
in which women gather to explore faith topics and meet new friends. Discussions include articles
published in “Lutheran Woman Today” magazine. Visit www.lutheranwomantoday.org to read
the magazine. Subscribe to the magazine at 800-328-4648. First English has three active circles:
- "Judith Circle" meets at 1 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month in Room 110 at the Downtown Site.
- “Sarah Circle” meets at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month in the home of a First English member.
- “Miriam Circle” meets at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month in the home of a First English member. For more information, e-mail Anita Damon.
Wednesday LIFT (Living in Faith Together) activities are held during the school year at the Downtown Site. LIFT helps members become people with Christ at the center of their life. The worship service consists of a modified form of Holden Evening Prayer. |
