FELC Youth Ministries

Outreach & Social Ministry

The Outreach & Social Ministry Team provides opportunities for members to respond to God’s call to social ministry and justice. As we serve others, we experience more fully the creative, transforming power of Christ and God’s loving presence. By expressing and experiencing the abundant life as revealed in the scriptures, this ministry team identifies and connects members to opportunities to care for and learn about our neighbors in our community and around the world.

ECHOES, a Christian Thrift Store
Echoes, a Christian Thrift Store, is an outreach ministry operated by
First English at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and Mason Street in
Appleton. Stop by and check out the ever-changing inventory or drop off your donations of quality, used clothing, books or housewares from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Important items of information:

• Discussion centered on ways to help the congregation become aware of the outreach that is being done at FELC. Suggestions included:

• Creating a brochure for new members to identify FELC outreach.
• Review the binder of monthly emphasis designed by Katie Snow, former summer intern.
• Find ways to celebrate the ministry volunteering FELC members are involved in.
• “Did you Know” blurbs in the newsletter and Sunday bulletins
• Information on the Web site of volunteer opportunities.
• Place information on the bulletin board in the Gathering Area.

• Mary will continue to invite interested members of FELC to join this ministry team.
