Sunday School Information Updates
From Faith Formation Coordinator Kirsten Owens

FELC leadership has decided to suspend in-person church activities for eight weeks within both our church buildings, which places our anticipated return to standard operations as May 13, with our first in-church worship service being May 17.

Of course, as information changes, this date may be altered but right now that’s the plan.

Here is the First English plan for Sunday School:

  • We will still have Sunday School - online! Tune in to the FELC Facebook Page or our homepage on Sunday morning for worship at 9 a.m. and Sunday School at 9:45 a.m.  Sunday School will be broadcast from the home of Faith Formation Coordinator, Kirsten Owens. Please join in!
  • We will be sending the lesson for each week home via email on Thursdays, and posting the lessons on this page every Friday.  (Click here for this week's lesson for PK-Grade 2, or Click here for this week’s lesson for Grade 3-6). Please use these lessons (the Story @ Home pages are included in the document)  to keep your child up to speed with our Sunday School lessons.  If you have not used these daily Bible readings and devotions in the past, seize this opportunity!  There’s no better time to explore!
  • We will also be sending a video that corresponds to the lesson if possible. Here’s the link for this week’s video for PK-Grade 2, and this link for Grades 3-6.
  • Click here to listen to today's Story @ Home.
  • Ask to join either or both of the First English Sunday School closed Facebook groups for education specific posts (you do this through Facebook directly.)  FELC Sunday School – North Site or FELC Sunday School – Downtown Site.

Even though our world has been turned on its head right now, we are beginning to come up on Holy Week very quickly.  In fact, next week is PALM SUNDAY!  We would LOVE to have your family help with connecting across our e-FELC platform during these few weeks.  So, Pastor Jeff has asked that families who are interested and willing draw pictures of palms and then send them to him either electronically at jtengesdal@felc.com or through snail mail to the church office (the address is below).  He will be displaying these palms during livestream worship on Palm Sunday, April 5.   Please send these so we receive them no later than Friday, April 3.

Holy Week Livestream Worship Schedule:

Palm Sunday, April 5, 9 a.m.

Maundy Thursday, April 9, 6:15 p.m.

Good Friday, April 10, 6:15 p.m.

Easter Sunday, April 12, 9 a.m.

Livestream Sunday School will be offered on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday.

You can access the livestream worship either through the First English Lutheran Church Facebook page or via the www.felc.com First English website homepage.

We continue to surf the ever-changing waves of news regarding Covid-19 but know that as a faith community we will be celebrating the resurrection online in a couple of weeks and will plan to have a joyful celebration of reunion when restrictions are lifted!

Prayers for good health in body, mind, and spirit!

We are people of the resurrection, we bound by the love of Jesus, we care for one another!

Stay tuned!
